Wow..can I identify with what your teacher said. I am a counselor and had trouble being responsible toward my "art", which was the kind of counseling I believe in....that of teacher others to believe in themselves, love themselves, and be true to themselves. Alcohol and drug counselors here (in Maine at least are forced to use the medical model of treatment. I have arranged my life to be able to do the work I believe in, and am making a huge change by moving to Panama to work at The Last Resort! I also write..and I believe this , will enable me to put more into my writing. I've worked hard on letting go of the past..something I tend to still struggle with a little..but I do follow my heart, and ask God for help daily! I love the pictures of your art... it is very unique and makes me thing you see the world with excitement, in vivid color! What awesome gifts we receive in recovery!
